Young People’s Support
Support Structure
At Brightsky Youth Services, we believe that every young person has strengths, potential and aspirations. Our support provides the relationships, stability and opportunities young people need to build confidence, overcome barriers and prepare for a positive future.
Every young person has a named Support Worker who provides regular key work sessions, practical guidance and encouragement. Support is personalised around the young person’s needs, strengths, wishes and goals, with progress regularly reviewed and celebrated.

Individualised Support Plans
Building Confidence & Resilience
Preparing for Independent Living
Through consistent keywork, life skills development and structured routines, we support young people aged 16–21 to build confidence, develop resilience and progress towards independent adulthood.
Individualised & Trauma-Informed Support
We understand that many young people have experienced trauma, loss, disruption or instability. Our approach is trauma-informed, relationship-based and strengths-focused, creating an environment where young people feel safe, listened to and respected.
Through positive and consistent relationships, we help young people build trust, develop resilience, manage risks safely and make informed decisions about their future.
Life Skills and Independence
Supporting young people to develop essential skills.
Independence is Built Step by Step
Through our Supported Learning Independence Programme (SLIP), young people develop practical skills in budgeting, cooking, maintaining a home, managing appointments, health and wellbeing, personal safety, relationships, education, employment and community participation.
Young people are encouraged to take increasing responsibility as their confidence and skills grow, with support adapted to their individual progress.
Voice, Rights and Wellbeing
Young people are encouraged to express their views, participate in decisions and help shape the support they receive. We ensure young people understand their rights and have access to advocacy, complaints and feedback routes.
Emotional wellbeing is supported through trusted relationships, regular conversations and partnership working with Social Workers, health professionals and specialist services where additional support is needed.
Participation & Voice
Young people are actively encouraged to contribute to decisions about their support, share their views and participate in planning their future. Their opinions are valued and help shape the support they receive.
Rights, Advocacy & Wellbeing
Emotional wellbeing is supported through trusted relationships, regular conversations and partnership working with Social Workers, health professionals and specialist services where additional support is needed. Young people also have access to advocacy, complaints and feedback routes to ensure their rights are understood and respected.
Our aim is simple: for every young person to leave Brightsky with greater confidence, resilience, independence and belief in their future.
Structure, Boundaries & Positive Routines
Clear expectations, consistent boundaries and positive routines help create stability and a sense of security. Our staff combine encouragement and relationship-based support with clear guidance, helping young people develop responsibility, confidence and the skills needed for adulthood.
Our aim is simple: for every young person to leave Brightsky with greater confidence, resilience, independence and belief in their future.
Young people are supported to engage in education, training or agreed activities, attend keywork sessions and manage their responsibilities within the accommodation.
Regular reviews provide opportunities to reflect on achievements, address challenges and adapt support plans to ensure continued progress.
Young people are encouraged to take ownership of their living space, manage shared spaces respectfully and develop tenancy awareness.
Delivering Structured, Relationship-Based Support
“Thanks for your support. You really worked hard to ensure that H had safe accommodation with you from March 2025 to June 2026. It is important to highlight that you were actively involved in H’s transition planning, attended meetings, and supported him in booking and attending various appointments. You also provided emotional support at a time when he was rejected by both parents. You also helped him cultivate healthy eating habits (although this was difficult to achieve with H) and equipped him with essential life skills, including budgeting and managing a home. I believe H will forever cherish memories of his time at Brightsky"
