Service Overview

Brightsky Youth Services

Our Service Model

At Brightsky Youth Services, we provide safe, stable and welcoming supported accommodation where young people can feel secure, build confidence and prepare for adulthood and independent living.

As an Ofsted-regulated provider registered on the West Midlands Supported Accommodation Framework, we support young people aged 16 to 21, including looked-after children, care leavers and Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC). Our approach is relationship-based, trauma-informed and strengths-focused, recognising that every young person has their own experiences, strengths, aspirations and journey.

Through positive relationships, personalised support and our Supported Learning Independence Programme (SLIP), we help young people develop resilience, practical life skills and confidence for the future. Every placement is carefully assessed and matched to ensure the accommodation and support provided are safe, suitable and responsive to the young person’s individual needs.

Our Model of Support

At Brightsky, our support is built around you. We take time to understand your needs, strengths, goals and any challenges you may be facing, so we can provide the right level of support at the right time.

You will have regular support from staff who will help you stay safe, build confidence, develop everyday life skills and work towards your goals. Together, we will agree a support plan that focuses on what matters to you and review it regularly as you progress towards greater independence.

Our approach is based on positive relationships, consistency and respect. We want every young person to feel heard, supported, and encouraged to achieve their potential.

Categories of Support

We understand that every young person’s journey towards independence is different. That’s why we provide different types of supported accommodation, with support matched to your individual needs, strengths, goals and level of independence.

What Commissioners and Local Authority Social Care Teams Can Expect

Brightsky works in close partnership with commissioners, local authority children’s social care teams, social workers, personal advisers, and other professionals to provide safe, stable and well-managed placements.
Our partners can expect clear and timely communication, accurate reporting and record-keeping, effective safeguarding and risk management, early escalation of concerns, collaborative working, and constructive professional challenge when a placement may no longer be suitable or a young person’s needs have changed.
From referral and matching through to placement reviews and planned move-on, our approach is transparent, accountable and focused on achieving positive outcomes for young people while meeting regulatory and contractual requirements.

Measuring Successful Outcomes

We measure each young person’s progress through personalised Support Plans, regular key work sessions, placement reviews and our Supported Learning Independence Programme (SLIP).

SLIP helps young people build and demonstrate skills across key areas, including accommodation and tenancy readiness, budgeting, practical life skills, education, employment and training, health and wellbeing, relationships, personal safety and community participation.

Progress is regularly reviewed and evidenced, helping young people recognise their achievements, overcome barriers and move confidently towards independence.
